Chapter:# 20
The Twelve Gates

“And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.” Revelation 21:9-13 KJV

( Vision )

“As I looked and saw the Army marching forward there was in front of this Army the fire of God from the Throne, and upon the earth the nations as the Army came forth into their midst. The faces of the peoples who saw this Army became blackened, so much so that a fierce anger was apparent to me. These faces who were blackened were this way because of conviction and because of the failure of the world to prevent this Army from marching forward. Round about this Army and round about each Soldier in the Army was the fire of God in protection, but also in judgment. At the same time that this march took place the kingdoms of the world and the nations therein were destroyed. The world held in bondage came to an abrupt end but with anger and with sorrow as the Army of the Lord marched forward in the flames of the fire of God.”

( Not the end of the vision )

Now we come to the Gates and the Foundations, the fields and the plains within and without the walls of the New Jerusalem, and then finally, the Mount Zion in the midst of the City. We will study the mount Zion and the Throne of God plus the other things mentioned as we progress through our understanding of this dimension of spirit.

Being somewhat stretched in meaning this City is a volume of information for they who would walk according to the hope that is in them, the hope of full and final victory, the end of trials and testings and the completion of our faith. The City also becomes that standard by which all men are measured as relates to holiness and perfection.

The Gates of the City are laid out 3 to a side, which Gates are described thus:

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. Rev 21:25. The City is seen appearing after the 1st Heaven and the 1st Earth end. Those who were tainted by the fall come to the end of their purpose and the destruction of the fall is no more. There is at the revelation of this City a New Heavens and a New Earth. Also, there is no more ‘sea’, or if you will, the mass of humanity is no more a mass, but a people in whom God will now Tabernacle. The entire purpose of the City is so that God can Tabernacle amongst the people of the earth. That God now will live in communion with the inhabitants of the earth who have every tear wiped from their eye and the former things are forgotten and are no more for they are passed away forever. This is the picture of what we are all hoping for, the full manifestation of the Kingdom of God in the earth. That earth which will have come full circle and back to its place of total need and dependency upon God. When I look at the news broadcasts and the condition of the world now, this depiction of the City seems to be but a faint distant hope set far off in the future. However this City is actual in a present reality when you walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh of this world. Or if you will, when you set your mind and eyesight on Heavenly things. Then the City is not FUTURE but reality in measure now. There will be a future manifestation of God enveloping this creation into His Kingdom, but we are also able at this time to abide in these realms of Spirit and enjoy the presence of God daily as overcoming becomes apparent to our walk.

So then coming from the outside to the inside of the City, we approach it knowing that this is the invitation from Father for us to come Tabernacle with Him. There is just so much to view and cover here from the scriptures that it is hard to begin. When I contemplate the foundation of this City, then the Gates, then the walls, it all ties together so beautifully in a perfect picture of God dwelling amongst man whom He created in His image. The City is a perfect picture of God’s wonderful love and of His tremendous saving power through the atonement The Lord Jesus Christ made for each one upon Calvary. For me to begin at one point without including others is difficult. To stay centered on the understanding of the Throne of God upon the pinnacle of the Mount Zion in the middle of this City and not speak of the walls and the Gates is also difficult, for this entire scriptural scene is such a perfect display of God’s greatness, it is almost unfathomable to take it all in. I see this entire City as the purity of God’s Spirit overtaking the natural creation of this earth in a NEW CREATION. That this City is experienced now in our faith, but will be an actual manifestation in the time that comes when the Lord visits this world with His fullness. My heart is enthralled with it all and it is scarce hard for me to find a place to begin!

So with that said, I want to for now rise above the foundation, coming back to it later, and instead go right into the understanding I have on the Gates. For the Gates are said to be 12 in number, and to each Gate and Angel, and on each Gate a name written of one of the tribes of the children of Israel. The Gates are always open, mankind will not be left out of this City. There will not be one who does not in the end qualify and one who does not enter into this City! All will be made Holy. All will be made right. The former things – including the lake that burns with fire and brimstone - WILL PASS AWAY. No one will be exempt from entering in by these Gates into the New Jerusalem and will eternally abide there in the Tabernacle of God. There is no temple to walk to in this City, for The Lord God Almighty, even He who is the Ancient of Days, this one who sits as a fire enfolding in upon itself, and the Lamb of God, The Lord Jesus Christ - are the temple of this City. And that is YOUR FINAL DESTINATION. This dear reader IS the end of your faith!

Just as you now have a heart pumping your natural blood, so shall that heart be glorified in a new body, pumping the blood of the new covenant in your very veins in this City. This former heart in your natural body will be exchanged for a new heart. Your former body for a new body. Just as sure as you are alive in this world, so much more will you live in the next. There will be NOT ONE SOUL separated from God in this City. Not one person will be left out of it when the final tally is accounted for, and nothing of defilement from the former fallen world will enter into this final and eternal Tabernacle that God Almighty and the Lamb are, even in this City which will always be. The truth of your life in this City is as real as you are living now, and it shall be as real as you will be then, for “then” the “now” will be forgotten, and then the “forgotten” shall never be “remembered” any more.

But the greatest thing I personally look very much forward to IS a future event. It is an event that is yet being worked out by our Savior and will be manifested in due time when its completion has come to the full. This thing I long to see almost more than anything in the future life of the Tabernacle of God in the earth is what Jesus Himself is going to do. This faith of what I believe in concerning our Lord has kept me through many trials in my life, many realms of rejection, many years of the hard burden of my own cross. For it is a hope of something that Jesus will bring both to mankind and to God Himself, a hope that I hold in my heart as one of the greatest thrills of my faith. We are told in 1st Corinthians 15:24 that Christ will hand over a completed Kingdom to God. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power” 1 Corinthians 15:24 KJV. What I see is not written in this portion of scripture, but it is to me a most precious revelation. Picture this if you will. In the midst of The New Jerusalem is the Mount Zion, and upon the Mount the Throne Room and within the Throne Room the Throne of the Ancient of Days, even God our Father. And Jesus, having completed the work that Father sent Him to do, hands over the completed Kingdom to God with 100% of humanity fully redeemed. And then this is what I see, this is what I am hoping for – Jesus then turns and faces this congregation of they who have been made righteous, and HE TESTIFIES OF THE WORKS OF GOD FROM THE BEGINNING.

After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.   Acts 15:16-18 KJV

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: Ephesians 3:8-11 KJV

So come with me as we enter one by one through the Gates into this City. As we behold the foundation thereof, for the foundation is the first thing this natural world will see when this City descends to settle upon the dust of the earth. Each Gate is a realm of victory for the Overcomer, each Gate a realm of Grace in our Savior’s great love.

These Gates are laid out the same way the Tribes once encamped around Moses Tabernacle, now it has grown through the pages of scripture to become Gates in the walls of God’s Holy City.

Starting then with the east side of the walls, those three Gates are Judah, Issachar and Zebulun.

The Gate of Judah: Confessors and Praisers of God. For we as Overcomers will enter by this Gate into the City Praising God with songs of great joy for the first Gate carries with it the first requirement of entering this City, and that is that we Worship God with a NEW SONG in NEW BODIES of light and glory, even the promised Glorified  Body, WITH NEW CREATED TONGUES IN THIS BODY OF GLORY, that true worship will be the fruition of our life in the earth and the passing away eternally of the tribulation we once endured.

The Gate Of Issachar: God who is our reward.  Now we see the rewards given to the righteous, those who overcame. Come with me through this Gate dear reader and inherit none other than God Himself who bears all 12 Names of His Majesty. God who in fullness is unmeasured, whom the infinite universe itself cannot contain. This very same God who was the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ during His passion. This God is YOUR REWARD. A reward that WILL NEVER BE REMOVED FROM YOU.

The Gate of Zebulun: God our eternal dwelling – WE ARE HOME.  Never more to depart out of the New Jerusalem, not just the City itself, but ANYWHERE ON THE EARTH SHALL THIS DOMINION BE. Oh Dear Reader, enter this Gate and be glad, for the earth will be as Eden was, pristine and pure, but with not measure of lack! An eternal dwelling place for all mankind, not just the Overcomer! For all men shall take part in this Gate and will enter by it into their everlasting home. That lake that burns with fire and brimstone empties out into this very Gate, and the ungodly within that lake will enter into this Gate GODLY for they will have no taint of that which is no more!

The next three gates on the southern wall are Reuben, Gad and Simeon.

The Gate of Reuben: Looking upon the Son – He who sees the Son. The son here being JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF THE MOST HIGH GOD. For He is the son who was begotten of God, once born of a woman under the Law, but now the fulfiller of that very same law and the maker of this eternal dominion! Come see this one for He is there, at the right hand of God who sits in the midst of this City upon the eternal Throne. See the Son and LIVE. Come through this gate to behold Him who is even to us the pattern son, the redeemer made the last Adam to consume the first Adam! Who’s right we are and who’s work we are completed in! I tell you, the first one I wish to behold in the New Jerusalem when I finally arrive IS JESUS!

The Gate of Gad: A band, a troop. Could I say AN ARMY? For this is the Gate the Army of God RETURNS TO ONCE ITS MARCH IS COMPLETED IN THE EARTH. The Army of the Lord which is composed entirely of they who overcome will march TO BRING AND END TO ALL FLESH. Any person who comes in through this Gate will see this Army glorious with banners and with The Lord Jesus Christ as the Captain and General of this mighty Host, tiny in numbers, but with the unlimited power and strength of God Almighty who did His full will of redemption through them.

The Gate of Simeon: They that hear and obey God’s Word. No one is exempted from entering into this Gate! For all mankind WILL hear and WILL obey the Word of the Lord. This Gate comes into effect AFTER the fall of Babylon religious! That whore who rode the scarlet colored beast in her religion will be NO MORE. The Word of God will then be seen in completion in all they who now come, for all will come through this same word to enter into the City of the Great King.

The next three Gates on the northern wall are Dan, Naphtali and Asher.

The Gate of Dan: Judgment, He who judges. This is the Gate of contrition and brokenness, of sorrow previous exchanged for the sentence given. It is this Gate that stands testament to the perishing of the former things that the new things might be all that is known. Anyone who comes to the New Jerusalem will be ones who endured judgment and who was made purified and white and clean. The end result of this judgment will be HOLINESS with NO DEFILEMENTS OF THE FORMER FALLEN EARTH.

The Gate of Naphtali: Wrestling is over, no more struggles or fights. The Gate most longed for by those who bore the heat of life in this world. The life in its fallen state which became great tribulation as the fall was removed from the tainted soul. When you enter by this Gate, your life of struggles have come to an end. No more will there be any tribulation, any warfare, any discouragements of not knowing the Will of God. Through this gate the processings have come to an end and perfection has come.

The Gate of Asher: Happy blessed ones. Happy and blessed because THE FORMER THINGS ARE ALL PASSED AWAY. The working of God in cursing creation has come to an end and now creation has entered this Edenic state! Happy because there is nothing but this joy of Eternity, and the view of the Lord and the overcoming ones, and of a new body and a new creation wherein dwells NO death. No trials, no testings, no wars. The former world forgotten and remembered no more. Such is the joy of they who enter this Gate, come with me and approach it, for it is A PROMISE SURE.

The last three gates are on the western wall, Ephriam, Manneseh and Benjamin.

The Gate of Manneseh: Forgetting, he that is forgotten, forgetting the former pain. Run to this Gate dear ones, RUN for this will be the first thing to forget, this former world and your life within it! This is the reward for they who RUN THE RACE TO WIN THE PRIZE. They will FORGET WHAT THEY RAN AWAY FROM. They will forget this former world, this former life, this former tribulation and most of all – this former death and dying. The curse will be NO MORE when you enter this Gate. Come with me dear reader, enter in by this Gate into the causeway of that which is forgotten, this is a NEW CITY wherein dwells only the life of the Ages, the King in His Majesty and the Bride in her garments of white. Nothing of this former life will be remembered when we glimpse at this Gate the wonders of God’s great and glorious City!

The Gate of Ephriam ( This is the Gate associated with Levi ): Increasing fruitfulness because of association with the King. The fruit of the Spirit began in this world, but it will NOT end in the next. It is my aim to show you the fruit on the Tree of Life in the midst of the paradise of God, which fruit is borne in all of its seasons. For now know that each one who enters this Gate will be fruitful with a never ending supply of the fruit of the life that now is, which life has nothing of the former world associated with it. Ah, now we see the feasts of the Kingdom, the Word of God not in meat and drink, but righteousness peace and joy. Such is the reward of all they who enter by this Gate!

The Gate of Benjamin: Son of the Father’s Right Hand. Here now is our final identity, that we would be IN Father and Father would be the only remaining Tabernacle in which the extent of this City is found. As living waters pour over the soul, so they who enter in by this Gate will enter into the Eternal life of Father who will identify with His creation by consuming it all into Himself. From this point on as you enter this Gate, your eyesight will only see God. And God, when He sees you will see only A SON.
